Shaharut Hotel

The project is situated in the Negev Desert overlooking the Arava Valley an hour north of Eilat. The Architecture was designed by Plesener Architects, as a series of cave bungalows sunk into the topography, with only the desert facade exposed. It is an eco destination resort and today hosts the famous six senses Shaharut hotel.

The project creates a balance with its desert surroundings attempting to create a neolithic neo orientalist approach. Utilising natural materials to create an authentically Oriental experience. Middle eastern textiles were incorporated to give a balance between the Tadelakt built in furniture and desert setting, drawing upon local trade and ethnic craft.

Materiality:

Tadelakt, Natural stone, reclaimed oak.
